Bungee fit: will you give it a try?

You probably know it: you make a plan to "really start exercising again," but after a few times at the gym it suddenly feels more like work than recharging. Your schedule is already full, your head is overflowing and then you also have to endlessly count squats? No thanks. Exercise shouldn't be another task on your to-do list but something that gives you energy. Something that clears your head, wakes up your body and spontaneously gives you the urge to move again. Enter bungee fit: the workout that makes training fun again. You hang in elastic bands, you fly a bit (yes, really), you laugh, you sometimes land awkwardly, but most importantly: you move without it feeling like a must. It's light, playful, surprising and exactly what you need when you're in a busy phase of your life and exercise mainly feels like relaxation.

How it works

During a bungee fit class you wear a hip harness that's attached to an elastic rope from the ceiling. That cord supports part of your weight, making large movements easier. Think jumps, turns, sideways steps and short explosive movements.


It's a mix of cardio, core training and balance. And yes: you laugh more often than during a round of machines at the gym.


Who is it suitable for

Bungee fit works well for people who like to have fun while exercising and are looking for something that feels lighter than traditional strength training. It helps if you want to start exercising again, if you want to move in a joint-friendly way or if you notice that motivation sometimes comes from playfulness instead of discipline.


You don't need dance experience and you don't need t extremely fit. The cord helps out. Have doubts about injuries? Consult with the instructor or a physiotherapist. 


What you can expect 

A class usually lasts between thirty and sixty minutes. You start with a warm-up, then you learn basic movements, followed by a short routine or playful exercise. The pace differs per location. Some classes are calm and technical, others energetic with music. 


Many people who start say the same thing: it feels light and loose, sometimes a bit clumsy, but mostly fun.  


What it delivers 

Bungee fit helps you build fitness and improves strength in your core and stability. The movements are smooth and less stressful on the joints. What stands out in participants' experiences: they feel freer when moving and the fun ensures they keep coming back.
